Jagwar Ma have been on fire since the release of critically acclaimed kaleidoscopic dub-pop debut Howlin’. Following the success of their album they’ve toured the globe with the likes of Foals, The XX and Tame Impala.
Following their extensive gigging schedule the band returned to the self-built studio in rural France where they recorded their debut to lay down their follow up Every Now & Then.
On Every Now & Then, classic bass lines, jangly guitar parts and Paul’s Boutique-inspired loops bounce off elements of synth-pop and encounter bass heavy experiments. Swelling psychedelic choruses explode into melodic, sun soaked wig-outs, with a bittersweet beauty of surf melodies and euphoric synths.
Upon wrapping our ears around Every Now & Then we were delighted to discover an album befitting of our Album Of The Week moniker. You’ll hear album tracks on Amazing Radio throughout the week, finishing up with a full and interrupted play of the album at 2pm on Friday.
Every Now & Then is out now on Marathon Artists in UK/Europe (Mom + Pop in USA and Future Classic in Australia/New Zealand).
