Well, those festival announcements are coming thick and fast now, aren’t they? In the last week alone, we’ve had some huge names announced for Standon Calling, Live at Leeds, TRNSMT, Kendal Calling and Green Man. Phew! Is it stopping anytime soon? COURSE NOT.
This week it was the turn of another Amazing Radio favourite – End Of the Road, which takes place every September at Larmer Tree Gardens in Wiltshire. Some of our staple artists of recent years have all featured on the bill; last year’s festival alone had Savages, Local Natives, Oscar, Whitney, Meilyr Jones, and Amber Arcades playing under main stage headliners Joanna Newsom, Animal Collective and Bat For Lashes. Previous headliners have included Tame Impala, The War On Drugs, Wild Beasts, and many more huge acts. The festival has just announced the first names for their twelfth edition in 2017, and needless to say, the trend continues:
The first of this year’s headliners goes to former Fleet Foxes man Father John Misty, following the announcement of his third album Pure Comedy, set for release in April. He’ll be joined atop the bill by Canadian slacker-rock icon Mac DeMarco, for one of the few appearances he’ll make in the UK in 2017. Further down the bill, Real Estate, Parquet Courts, Alvvays, Car Seat Headrest, The Lemon Twigs and Gold Panda will all make very special appearances. The line-up is completed by Nadine Shah, Bill Ryder-Jones, Girl Band, Marika Hackman, All We Are, Julia Jacklin, Sinkane, Romare, Let’s Eat Grandma, Kelly Lee Owens, Japanese Breakfast, Ider, Pixx, Girl Ray, Ultimate Painting and HMLTD – and that’s just the artists from the Amazing Radio playlist. There’s quite a few more.
End of the Road takes place this year from 31st August to 3rd September, with Early Bird tickets already sold out. Tier 3 Weekend tickets cost £179, with deposit schemes, child and youth tickets all available. And, because EOTR are awesome, they don’t charge booking fees!
