We’ve loved Siv Jakobsen for bloomin’ ages now. All the way back in the glory days of 2015, we got her on to the Amazing Radio balcony at The Great Escape down in Brighton for a brilliant Amazing Sessions version of How We Used to Love, one of the best we’ve hosted in recent years. The track was taken from her debut EP, The Lingering – which was easily one of the most breathtaking releases of 2015.
More recently, she’s been out in support of Bear’s Den, Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Tips For 2016‘s Billie Marten, and finally she’s back out to headline some of her own dates. Following appearances at Tallinn Music Week in Estonia and Paradiso Noord in Amsterdam, she’s jetting over to UK soil once again for debut headline shows in Glasgow, Manchester and London in April and May, as well as Live at Leeds festival too. The tour culminates with a highly anticipated show at St. Pancras Old Church in the capital on May 3rd.
Tour news precedes details of Jakobsen’s full-length debut LP, slated for release later this year. The album was recorded at London’s Urchin Studios last summer, with producer Matt Ingram (Laura Marling, The Staves) and engineer Dan Cox (Lianne La Havas, Thurston Moore). She has promised us that new music is imminent, with a stripped-back teaser surfacing online late last year.
