It’s been almost a year to the day since we came off DAB and we’re delighted to announce that we’re returning to DAB in the UK, initially throughout London and the South East and then very shortly afterwards in Dublin too.
Digital radio listeners in those areas can hear what those who ‘kept the faith’ and those who discovered us on-line and via our mobile apps have known for a while now; that we’re the home of new and emerging music, endeavouring to ensure that you’ll have ‘heard it here first’.
We’ll re-start DAB broadcasts in London at midday on May 13th with a burst of birdsong, just like we did when we launched on DAB in 2009 in a nod to the birdsong channel we originally replaced. Our DAB launch in Dublin will follow in the same week and we’ll have a further announcement on this soon.
Our Programme Director Matt Jamison would like to take the opportunity to explain a little more:
We’re back, not yet nationally in the UK, although we hope to get there one day. Plus, we’re launching an expanded on-line streaming service, with more time-shifting to US time zones, a new and improved mobile app and more genre-based channels such as Amazing Beats and Amazing Chill“
It’s all part of exciting plans for 2013 and beyond. To those of you who’ve been with us from the start, thanks for keeping the faith. To those joining us along the way, welcome on board, we hope you enjoy the music. Remember, you heard it here first.
